BUSINESS MODEL OF A FILM 260 DAYS FOR INVESTORS
The key objectives of the film 260 DAYS
1.
In Hollywood production, telling an authentic story based on the suffering of Croats in the Homeland War. With a budget secured for its production of 4-5 million €, the film would be a candidate for all the most prestigious film festivals in the world, and afterward, it would be distributed in over 100 countries worldwide. The multiple benefits for Croatia will be invaluable, considering that the film uniquely addresses the fate of Croats in the most important part of our history, which the Homeland War certainly is;
2.
Within the 260 DAYS team, there is strong know-how and years of experience in creating profitable film and other projects. Based on the above, profitability of the film 260 DAYS would be ensured, enabling investors to recoup their investment and receive a return at a pre-defined rate. The defined rate for profit distribution will depend on the success achieved in securing the film’s production budget.
Business models for investors
– Investing in the film 260 DAYS is based on the principle of a profitable venture in which the involved parties achieve return on investment and profit payment based on a concluded agreement in a minimum amount of €10,000;
– Investors in the film 260 DAYS will be divided into two categories:
– Investors with priority rights in the return of investment and corresponding profit;
– Investors without priority rights in the return of investment and corresponding profit;
– For the production of the basic version of the film 260 DAYS, it is necessary to secure a minimum budget of €2.35 million, which we are pleased to confirm has already been secured. Based on previous experience in film projects and market research for the film 260 DAYS, revenue estimates for its basic version, which does not include the engagement of one or more Hollywood stars but solely involves the engagement of excellent British actors, amount to a minimum of €3 million. This amount is sufficient for the return of investment and payment of corresponding profit for both categories of investors;
– Ensuring further budget increase would provide us with the opportunity for engagement of higher-quality actors. The aim is to engage one or more Hollywood stars, as higher-quality actors determine greater interest in the film, both from film festivals and film distributors, significantly increasing the film’s profitability;
– In line with the goal of creating a film of the highest possible quality, we have devised a lucrative profit distribution model for all investors, which we present below:
– For a budget raised up to €2.5 million, each individual investor with priority rights in the return of investment will be contractually guaranteed priority in principal repayment from the initial proceeds from the sale of rights from the film 260 DAYS and priority in profit payment in the amount of 20% to be collected from 80% of royalties and sales of all rights from the film 260 DAYS after principal repayment to all investors who participated in the film’s budgeting;
– For a budget raised from €2.5 million to €5 million, each individual investor with priority rights in the return of investment will be contractually guaranteed priority in principal repayment from the initial proceeds from the sale of rights from the film 260 DAYS and priority in profit payment in the amount of 25% to be collected from 80% of royalties and sales of all rights from the film 260 DAYS after principal repayment to all investors who participated in the film’s budgeting;
– For a budget raised of €5 million or more, each individual investor with priority rights in the return of investment will be contractually guaranteed priority in principal repayment from the initial proceeds from the sale of rights from the film 260 DAYS and priority in profit payment in the amount of 30% to be collected from 80% of royalties and sales of all rights from the film 260 DAYS after principal repayment to all investors who participated in the film’s budgeting;
– The beginning of successive repayment of investment for investors can realistically be expected in the winter of 2024/25, while the full repayment of investment and profit for priority investors is expected by the end of 2025;
– For the director and owner of the intellectual property rights for the film 260 DAYS, as well as other investors with whom it has already been agreed or will be agreed that they will belong to the category of investors without priority rights in the return of investment and corresponding profit, the repayment of investment and payment of corresponding profit will only be made after complete settlement of the priority investor category. All of the aforementioned will be carried out in accordance with the Profit Distribution Model to Investors that we have previously presented.
General overview of the film as a business venture
– Film is a business area like any other (construction, food production, providing various services, etc.) and as such, it has its own specifics;
– Film can be a fantastic investment, and this has been recognized by members of the Jewish community as the best in the world. Based on this understanding, they are the investors in significant films in 90% of cases, and their representatives are the owners of 95% of major Hollywood studios;
– If a good Business Plan is created (a good story, good actors, realistic budget, quality approach to distributors, etc.) and standard risks are preventively neutralized, everyone involved in the film project will earn;
– For a better understanding of the aforementioned, below are examples with basic data of invested/earned amounts for some of the films by Jakov Sedlar and his partners:
– “Gospa” (1995, feature film, Martin Sheen, Michael York… awarded in Warsaw for the best Catholic film in the world in 1995). The budget for this film was $2.8 million. The revenue during two years of screening worldwide was $5.9 million;
