In celebration of the start of filming and the arrival of the first part of the cast, the third press conference for the 260 DAYS project was held. The conference was attended by actors who played key roles in the film, portraying young Marijan, his parents, and his older sister Nena – Will Gober, Sam Hazeldine, Camilla Rutherford, and Isabella Dempster.
The first scenes of the film were shot in Gorjani, near Đakovo. As the cast stepped back into 1991 to bring to life the circumstances surrounding Marijan, we shared a gallery of images.
The first week of filming was filled with excitement and intense work on the set of the movie 260 DAYS. The atmosphere on set was focused and productive, with twelve-hour workdays.
Some of the initial scenes were shot in Đakovo, including Petra Katančića Street. Following that, the team moved to several locations in Gorjani – Punitovačka Street and Kula Street. At these locations, scenes were filmed that featured streets, a police station, the Gubina family home, a garden, a road, and a drive through the countryside.
The scenes were led by young Marijan, played by British actor Will Gober, along with his on-screen father Hinko, portrayed by Sam Hazeldine (whom you may recognize from TV classics like Peaky Blinders and The Witcher). Also joining the cast were British actor Alec Newman, playing the role of Miloš, and Naomi Frederick, who takes on the role of Vukica. Marijan’s sisters were also present on set: Isabella Dempster as Nena, Florence Bensberg as Gabrijera, and Antea Huljev Žuvan as Helena. In addition to the main cast, the set was bustling with extras – civilians, soldiers, policemen, and body doubles for the lead actors.
During the filming in Gorjani, the Gubina family home stood out in particular. Key scenes were shot inside, in the dining room and hallway, where we captured family conversations leading up to the horrors awaiting them.
The atmosphere on set was intense, yet positive. Everyone worked diligently to make sure each scene was perfect. Director Jakov Sedlar carefully oversaw every detail, ensuring everything was going according to plan. The excitement continues to build as we move step by step toward creating this cinematic classic. Each scene brings us one step closer to the final product, which we hope will capture the hearts of audiences.
